I was a beneficiary of these training aids, back during the cold war era. Then as now it's horrendously expensive to live fire exercise field force elements in their particular tools of trade, though obviously pre-digital simulation during my time. Although I do recall whilst on either vehicle or ground designated tasked…
I haven't been on here in well over a year but the first 3D model I ever did was of a WW2 jeep. I now also own one that I'm restoring so I'll pin point a few details I quickly noticed from your model. Before the texturing, I would go back on your modelling a bit if you don't mind. The most easily spotted feature of those…
This is exactly the kind of thing that a lot of people say to me - heres why I don't branch out. I AM branching out by making girls lol. Since I started in games heres a rough count of what I have made (just skimmed over my folders and counting whats in there kinda rough numbers) inhouse and freelance. Environment props:…
I would add, laser focus your portfolio to the studios you want to work at. Make it super easy for them to hold your work up next to their games and it should match, or better yet exceed the quality of their latest project. I see so many unfocused porfolios and no wonder they have a hard time getting a job. A seni…
Hey guys just sharing some pictures from my wip model for a practice purposes. I love machinery from WW 2 so I have decided to make this big guy, Weapon hi-poly finished, starting with shipping crate. Can't wait with my favourite part texturing. What do you think about model? I am still learning modeling :) Thanks!
Alright, I see. The cube was throwing me off. Baking works by having the high and the low in the exact same position in 3D space. If the high poly is not overlapping the low poly, there will be no information to capture accurately when the baker goes to shoot rays from its cage. https://youtu.be/wZ-Z3kA-f9s?t=272 Hope this…
Before i even read your post i could tell wind waker was the game you were looking at for inspiration. Great work! Only possible thing i can think of would be maybe some light low contrast rings around the toes like birds have? Not sure. He looks straight out of an expantion pack to WW!
This might be of help: http://www.andyzibits.com/tut_low_poly_trees.html http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=356544&highlight=tree+lowpoly Here is another one: http://www.3dlessons.com/tutorials/Creating-low-poly-foliage-47883.html Also one tip is to make sure and make things darker towards the inside and lighter…
... you want the banks to fail? Does anyone even need to state why that cannot be allowed to happen? Come on, the same exact thing happened after world war 1. America goes in cycles with these things, that's just how economics is. You'll get a more conservative country once we pull ourselves out of this shit-heap, that's…
Thank you so much for giving me this great advice and yes I also come from the friesepoort and went to the NHL after ;) . As it happen to be, I was just updating my artstation account after reading the same article! I only had a couple of artpieces on there because I was too focussed on my website. So now I'm trying to do…
