been getting to grips with the arms tonight.It's a little bit made up in places, but I will resculpt some more tomorrow. Its 2 million polys now and my machine is 5 years old so i am quite impressed with my old wreck of a pentium 4 LOOM, thats funny man mvelasquez - thats a nice model , bit like bobos stuff in some ways -

Wow. Basic Phong gray mat applied to everything yielded less than a minute render time for the same frame. Do mats really wreck a CPU that badly? Also, and I don't know if this is of any importance but I'm running a GTX 260. What about the technique known as texture baking? Would that help? I really need to learn about… -

One thing you can do is make a normal version of the car then make a blend shape of what you want wrecked. This way if it doesn't look like you wanted. You can always delete the blendshape and try again. I know this is for facial expressions but the same process remains the same… -
NEW CAR
after my wreck last year in my Mazda rx-8 it has never been the same, little problems here and there, leading me to believe that it would soon die on me. also getting tired of paying out hte ass for gas. tonite i went and got me a 07 toyota prius pretty much maxed out with options. i'm loving it so far. this isnt mine but… -

Oh, I wouldn't go THAT far. This movie wasn't great, but it wasn't the same kind of train-wreck that the Transformers movies were. (especially the 2nd one) Probably the biggest problem I saw was that it lacked structure. The script almost seemed like a lot of it was being improvised by the actors. Action movies live or die… -

Thanks. :) I was going to give him shoes but not doing so just added that extra bit of silliness to the character, like he saw a ghost and just ran out after it without putting his shoes on. And if you don't buy that, he's also a poor bastard. You'll also notice the hoover isn't even plugged in...making it entirely… -
maya6 preserve uvs when splitting polygons?
in max if you cut a shape into a poly, the resulting shape is transferred to the uvs and you get no distortion. When I cut a shape into a textured polygon in maya (not just a single straight line) it wrecks it.. is there any option, or plugin, that fixes this? its going to be a real pain in the arse if I have to make every…
