Goal of the likeness can be whatever you want -- but I think in general people should be able to look at the work and easily recognize who it's supposed to be. Definitely a good way to train your eye if you strive for an exact 1::1 replica though.
I don't think I could here in the UK. Would probably have to head to a former Soviet underling state, and even so I think it would be difficult to find a Walker Colt 1847 - even one of those Uberti-made replicas.
Here is something I am working on to get better at Hard-surface modelling and to improve my general ZBrush skills. Bane from the new Batman movie; The Dark Knight Rises. Played by Tom Hardy. Not going for a full 100% replica, more like 95%
[ QUOTE ] You've basically slapped artists like DaZ in face as a bulk of his work are recreating human likeness. I love this concept. I have always been a big steampunk fan. Keep going! There is a replica of the Crystal Palace in Dallas Texas called the Data Center. If you don't have enough reference for the original, there are quite a few pictures of the Dallas version online.
I think this one was scrapped because it changed the color scheme drastically rather than because it was ripping off blizzard. But yeah, it also ripped it off almost 1:1 On the other hand, there's an original Sven's sword replica in the game, so it's probably not such a big deal.
Hello I am currently working a Glock 19 MHS . Let me know the good and bad about this model . I want to get this model to be an exact replica. I just added a basic AIstandard material in Maya to give some color and match the reference.
