Gothic 1,2 (and I guess 3)... really fun games, and the enviroment looks great too. BUT.. the characters, especially the main one who you see all the time is so badly done & animated it makes my eyes drop tears of blood (Yay, James Bond reference completly out of context )
I've been working on another modular dungeon for some time now. Compared to the previous project, I made it very difficult to add vertex painting blend and parallax occlusion. There will be a lot more props. This time the main source of inspiration was Gothic architecture and Witcher 3. Key references: Here's what's at the…
Love the concept! :D brilliant idea! I might've given it a go with wrecking the sign more. It looks in too good of a shape atm; maybe bend the part sticking out of the back like someone ran over it or like it was torn down rather obscenely, and some blood on the tip of the axe and the gothic spear thing.
Bit more of an update: The torso still needs a lot more detailing but I want to mass out the rest of the shape before I start detailing it out, as I'm not 100% certain what chapter I'm doing, yet. I'm thinking Grey Knights because I dig the extra level of Gothic they get.
Hey there. I'm trying to make a surreal horror game that goes back to the roots of Silent Hill and Resident Evil. If you have some models of furniture already made, or if you're looking to get credit for being a modeler in a video game, please email me at convolution223@gmail.com Any house furniture would be appreciated.…
This is looking great, I'm loving those gothic shapes and fog. Maybe not too much fog, so you can still see those cool spires you have in the background. And maybe more ambient light, the ref shot you posted has very strong ambient light, you might not want to to that bright with it though
wheres your reference for this sort of pillar? i would suggest getting the forms right and using ref for sculpting too befor you dissmiss it and go for a more stylised look... also pic a better shape, its just not that interesting when alot of gothic pillar bases have nice forms that would translate better to 3d
I wish I could have seen it all. The last post I saw was the bashing of Gothic 3's ugly presentation. Oh well. I think since this is a community of 3d artists, predominantly game artists, it's only right that we criticize the hells out of this sorta stuff. It will help us sleep at night.
If you are a contractor talk to your employer. As long as you don't state what game the asset is from then you might be ok (let's face it, lots of games have gothic churces in them). If you are an inhouse employee and ask for permission to post your work on a portfolio they might wonder why you are getting your portfolio…
Hello, I'm looking for a concept artist who can create small 2d props in a stylised look with a gothic and celestial theme. Currently have a list for 10-20 props i'm looking to dish out. This will not be able to start between Nov-Dec, but depending on quotes can see about squeezing work out earlier. Please email:…
