Crates, barrels, dumpsters seem to be a common starting place :P anything that you can find a lot of photo references of works great, you can always model something you have (wrench, anything on the desk, nic nacs), it makes it easier. -

Congrats on the green card and relocation to NYC! Must be an exciting, if nerve wracking time (I've always wanted to live there for awhile at least). Formal education (certs and degrees) really only help if you need it for a green card (which you have) or working in higher education as a teacher. So then, finding a job… -
