This is the best kind of advice and the one I use to most when talking to people. I've always been a believer of understanding and learning some of the artistic foundation skills, together with a 3D software, as (imo) the software will only be as good as the person operating it. One of the main things to remember is that…
Try making the background static so the software generating your GIF can optimise it out. This optimisation writes static pixels once and reuses them for the next frames until they change, reducing filesize. The animated background you have in there isn't doing anything really important to complement the subject anyway.…
Hey, thanks for the feedback everyone! JohnnyRaptor - Thanks. Yeah, she is definitely coming in at the masculine end of the spectrum. Thanks for the eye. Perhaps calling her an assassin is a bit incomplete as she doesn't really have the accessories you mentioned that would sell it. I guess that was more so the attitude I…
I'll be starting from today a thread for study, this study is based as a progression study and each step i'll be creating a character in a month or so . I took a look at your files. I baked in SP with ray distance(frontal/rear) .02 *Note* I had to assign my smoothing group to the model as yours had no smoothing groups assigned. Anything with iridescence, like some car paints or beetles or CDs. Many materials due to their structures will have some slight color, or respond differently under certain wavelengths. One example is copper, which has a heightened response under tungsten lights that can't be represented without spectral rendering. This is…

I really love the details such as the companion´s skull, the small trap on the belt and the hook on the shoulder piece, really made me smile! The bone gauntlets also look really cool and interesting. If she has such a "deep" connection or affection for bones, you could also make her weapon out of a creature which was most…
The important thing to remember about working in an engine is that you need to try and get assets into the engine as soon as possible. This doesn't mean waiting until the asset is finished. I usually try and do it once I get the basic shapes down. I'll import the asset into the engine and see if my forms/shapes are working…
