Sculpting a lion :3 Ref: I got permission to move away from this specific concept to shorten the back and relax the hocks, so that's gonna be my next move. And maybe relax the tail. I don't think i'll bother rigging it, but who knows. :D
.....lots of last minute rushed clean up 3D modelling..... Force yourself to relax (sounds oxymoronic) and use a pen tablet where possible. Seriously set your phone to go off every 15 mins or so and relax your muscles and posture.
Keep the same seam under the pipe and just use the relax tool. Should just pull the pipe into a much more realistic shape, at the cost of being harder to texture. Probably the relax by face angles or whatever option. Is that Max, Maya...?
For some of the problem areas, you can go into vert mode, turn on soft selection and relax just those areas. It will often relax better on a selection rather than the whole thing and the soft select will help it blend into the surrounding area.
Nice tool but the relax and iron options are too weak. I'm having trouble getting proper unwrapping with the iron tool and the relax does very little in straighting parts of the mesh out. Everything else on here is very nice however
It's pretty damn slow with my mesh of 13.5k tris, but the results are good. It has trouble with holes, though. I added "seal holes" to the macro for both unwrap and relax... seems to work for unwrap but relax ignores it for some reason...
"Without it, dark edges around the hole were visible on the normal map." Just for the record, the normal map should show color changes (if there is smoothing to counteract). Obviously, it has an easier job when the smoothing is more uniform. The mesh you use for baking (generally) should be the mesh you export, at least in…
Spherify works on subobject types and doesn't seem to get stuck with poles or closed loops but as with relax the edges aren't equal length. Still though, when used with relax and make planar function you can obtain a near perfect result.
Have you tried using "relax dialog" under 'tools' in the Edit UVWs dialog. You'll need Max8. I find the setting "relax by face angles" gives a very similar result to Maya. You can pin the edges in this too.
Yeah for clothing try to wear layers. Meaning your lowest level should be a bit more informal than your top level, so you can strip if need be. I went to my interview at Neversoft in jeans and a polo, but with a suit jacket on top. I saw everyone else was pretty casually dressed, so before even sitting down I took off the…
