I would pull up the quad on front of his arm below the elbow though, only one edge inside the elbow won't deform very well... unless I guess you put the pivot point AT that edge (assuming you're gonna rig and pose, if not, ignore me!)

no spec map yet... how can I make this guy badass enough to beat down MoP's pinky? And what about Bobo's nutty war god thing? And MoP's SECOND (?!?!) doom3 creature?? This is madness!

I love the mesh, and I love how you painted the head. The one thing that's really holding it down IMHO are the choppy, unclean lines of the armor. I think some editing on a pixel level in these areas is in order. I would pick a 1 pixel smudge brush at a 100% and the pencil tool at 1 pixel to really clean up the anti-aliasing by hand. You can make the lines less dark as well, which will suggest thinness and blend it further.
Great paintover DemonPrincess, and good suggestions. With a bit more tweaking like this, and the highlights SupRore suggested, this will look awesome-er!
Awesome paintover DemonPrincess, that helped a lot. I've gone over the texture again, and made a spec map. It's not in this screenshot, though, because I can't figure out how to get max to display a spec map in the viewport with more detail than simple vertex lighting. Anyone know? Probably something super simple...
This looks fantastic. Super impressive. I think possibly you could do to lighten the face a wee bit, although it could be this shitty monitor I'm using at the moment.
