@hoabert no , not really , I've mostly focused on those 3 brands mentioned before but I'm really looking forward for a 17" laptop for heavy graphics that won't loose quality in the first 3 years let's say...
Ryzen 3 takes a performance hit on RAM speeds below 3200mhz, and doesn't benefit, sometimes Ryzen 3 regresses on speeds over 3800mhz. Target 3600mhz, 3733mhz and 3800mhz RAM with the lowest CAS you can find. You can always over/under clock and tighten timings, so if you can't find RAM in the desired speeds you can spend…
I know, it's crazy. It's not quite as bad in Russia, i can still snag a 3060 that is only around 3 times more expensive than it should be. What a deal!
Was going to treat myself to a new laptop in the next few months. Just wondered if this base setup might be slightly deprecated(pricewise by newer components) in the next 6 months? Cheers. Intel Core i9-9900K 8-Core NVIDIA RTX 2080 8GB GDDR6 G-SYNC 17.3" 4K WVA 60Hz LED 64GB DDR4 2666MHZ (4 x 16GB) 1TB SATA 3 M.2 SSD 512GB…
I saw today one for 800 but it's 6 weeks wait. I guess that might be best option that is there. Thans again for your help lads, you are legends. I was asking mates that work in the industry but only here I got such throughout answer @PolyHeartz :3
So probably in Oct-Nov we have new Ryzen and new Nvidia 3000 in the market isn't it? so I think I'm going to wait for black friday more of less to change pc. I want to upgrade my i7 4790k, 16gram and 970 gtx. To make 3D environment and props. <3
I'd wait for the Ryzen 5950X coming out in 3 weeks and skip the 3950X. As for Threadripper, the 2970WX and 2990WX are faster then a 3950X for rendering, but the upcoming 5950X should be on par with the 2970WX for multi-threaded rendering while beating it in single threaded. This is all based off the numbers listed…
Unless you found a really good deal on then, there's basically no reason to choose the Ryzen 3000 series over the 5000. Also keep in mind that the Ryzen 6000 series (or whatever they end up called the ones with 3D V-Cache) are rumored to launch in about 2-3 months, and those should be the final CPUs for the AM4 platform…
@Agnes_EJust Yep, this is the thread to ask in if you have any questions about computer hardware. :) Based on the Lenovo Y700 specs, you'd probably want to look at systems in this range in order to see a noticeable performance boost over what you have: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/yLtWtg That CPU is about 70% faster…
