Wanted to get my hands dirty with feathers, so I did a griffin
Looks very Witcher 3-esque. Only thing I can say is that the feathers look too evenly place…
Back with something new. Decided to go for a fan art of League of Legends. I used a concept I found online. Here is what I have so far. The crystal is still a work in progress.
It has been a while but I started working on things again.
I have started working on something new based on concept art a friend of mine did.
It is still at the base of the texturing work and as someone requested I will add a small b…

Finished my "Dragon Cannon"
Also some texture step gif on my artstation https://www.artstation.com/artwork/gGv6K
Nice ZugZug! I do miss a bit of lighting on this. Some areas could benefit from some ambient occlusion. Als…
Damn Tim and Mario, You are doing a fine job so far. I love how he has evolved since the start. Mario's beautyshot does make it feel like it could be part of Overwatch. Can't wait to see the final product. Im sure Tim can deliver.
A small wip plant for my diorama. It's crunch time at work and in family life. Also..
Also it's TREE OF SAVIORRRRRRRRRRRRRR BETAAAAAAA. (go check it out guys, it's made by the ragnarok online core team and it's the spiritual suces…
The first thing that I notice is that the proportions are not the same as on the concept. The blade looks longer and the hilt look beefier than on the concept. Texturewise I think you can do a whole lot more with it. I'm not sure about that Damascus…
@Tectonic, I agree the hues are very close to eachother. I'll see what I can do to improve on this.
@Praetus, I have been careful with the blade in order to not overdo it. I can still play with the lighting to see if I can pus…
@Wirrexx I would establish the shape first when it comes to wood. Paint in some basic planar detail. Then it is on to adding darker shades and lighter shades. Introduce more details as you go and refine it later.
dont forget to zoom out often to de…
Awesome feedback Sweetangel! I feel you on the scene sofar but I haven't done anything yet in terms of vertexcoloring or lighting it. However I do love the colors on your paintover and makes it look really vibrant. I will take this to heart. Thanks …
What it lacks right now is a clear lightsource. The texture itself looks a bit blobby too. It does not compliment the shape. On the gold parts try to introduce a second color for the darker shades. Perhaps even a teint of green.

Hi guys, new here and to hand-texturing. Some really inspiring work by the way, helped me through getting this model on the way.
Besides the point, my education so far hasn't included any formal teaching of 3D modelling or t…
Extremely valuable stuff! Thanks for supplying the community!
I especially like the no nonsense aproach with proper comments during the videos.
I would definitely enter the fray for a copy to upgrade my skills with a digital brush.

Here are more images Sweetangel.
And the concept that I followed is not mine.
This could definitely benefit from some more definition in muscle and texture in general.
Right now it just looks like a solid c…
I would tone down the highlights on the blade's edges and on the blue-ish part. The contrast between the darker parts is too high at the moment. At the top of the blade you could make a highlight near the first chip to simulate that area catching th…
