  • driftprincess_z said: Amazing work! Do you have a sketchfab account I can follow? Thanks!  Not yet,  but I'll be putting up my next pieces up on Sketchfab,  this one was a little too complex.
  • Apheleion said: Was the whole animation done in marmoset 3 and this is such great work so whimsical Glad you enjoy the piece!  Yeah,  the whole piece was rendered inside of Toolbag 3.  Camera animation, and animation of the leaves, coins…
  • Hey EarthQuake,   Thanks for the info on no 4.  Very cool to know you can do this! I will experiment with this feature now that I know it's there. As for no. 11, I figured out what the problem was.   What happened is that I had keyed tessellation…
  • Thanks Tits.  I really tried to push Toolbag to the limit.  I used every ounce of potential I could find. Koromo:  Thanks!  I imported my camera from 3ds max,  but I did a lot of additional keying inside of Toolbag, for focus distance, focal leng…
  • I'm pretty sure it's not possible inside of Toolbag yet.  I agree, this would be a great feature to have though!  Maybe with the multi-viewport support that EarthQuake hinted at, this is something that will be added at some point.
  • What you are looking for is the Shadow Catcher object.  Scene -> Add Object -> Shadow Catcher.  You just need to go to capture settings and enable Transparency.
  • Why haven't I tried this before? 5 minutes, and I'm hooked. I'm using Rockstar's config, it works best for me. It's so much better than using the mouse! Doh!
  • I don't read as much as I used to but the last 2 books I've read have been by China Mieville ('Perdido Street Station' and 'The Scar') and Im busy on 'Iron Council', his latest novel. I have really enjoyed the series of books as he's got quite an…

  • Hey Poop This is a great tutorial, not overly complex, but it's got all the right info in the right places. The skater came out great, and the high poly model is fantastic. Whats your turnaround time these days on an asset like this? Cheers …
  • Hershey's reminds me of the cheap cooking chocolate (a.k.a edible plastic) they sell in supermarkets here. Horrible. Ghirardelli chocolate is excellent in comparison, but still not exactly my favourite. My favourite choclate makers are Lindt, Co…
  • Wow. The first piece, and the last piece you posted are really talking to me. The Pink/Brown piece had potential, but the text just killed it for me. The structural cue of language just seems so out of place in these images. This is interesting …
  • I think what makes it cartoony is the size of the cockpit relative to everything else. Its huge!! This is great so far. I much prefer this blue/grey hybrid. Play with colour variations on the cockpit canopy, the current purply/orange isnt wor…
  • The modelling on this is really good. The proportions and forms look great. With a kickass texture its going to look phenomenal! Cheers Steve
  • I love these guys, very lively texture work. I am really excited about Mercenaries. Gotta get hold of it soon! Cheers Steve
  • I gotta say, this is excellent so far. I agree with Poop about the skin tones . . . just a tad too pink. I really love the feeling of the white chest armour, and wish you had carried it over to the boots/more areas, because it looks so damn cool!…
  • Mop & Poop: To be honest, all of the lighting on these characters is hand painted. That was one of the biggest challenges for these pieces, and extremely time consuming. I experimented with vertex lighting but the quality just didn't cut it. …
  • Hey guys Thanks for all the replies. This reel and characters were a learning experience for me, and I'm always trying to improve. Poop: If only putting the characters together was as easy as the process you describe. Sure were not talking …
