Intro
Doesn't everyone remember that adorable little feline from Winnie the Pooh Tigger from when we were kids? If you forgot what he looks like simply go to any mall or look in any catalog and I am sure you will see pile of Winnie the Pooh merchandise. When I think of people I want to blow away Tigger may be at the bottom of my list, but that doesn't mean it still isn't fun. Although I have to admit that Seeing Tigger running around with a big flower destroys that sense of seriousness that I develop when I play Quake2, this is not a bad thing. The Tigger model is a nice contrast to the cyborgs, monsters, mean looking dudes, sexy babes, and evil robots that litter the screen in Quake 2. Even though the model is very flawed, the animations and sounds do a pretty good job of portraying Tigger's personality. The skins are my favorite part of the model, they look so really colorful under the lighting effects in the game. The viewable weapons are both a nuisance, (What is the flower supposed to be?) and a pleasant variety to the standard weapons of the game, very original. Even with the models many flaws, I still use it with my Eraser bots all the time. The model is original and I applaud the author's efforts, especially since this is his first model, and it is an original idea to place a favorite character from childhood into the Quake universe. Anyone who likes Tigger should download this model.

The Model
I hate to be mean, but the flaws in this model call for a little verbal abuse. Oh, where to start, well the top would be a good place. The head looks like some one hit him with a shovel, where is his neck? The jaw through the neck could have also been raised to give the model a more feline look. However, the rest of the head looks like Tigger, and is pretty good. The body is to wide, flat and blocky, Tigger in the cartoon looks like a sausage with arms and legs. The shoulders are wide and blocky also. The arms a too flat, and the wrists look funny, but the arms are decent. The legs are the worst offenders, they have no knees or ankles. I added points for the visible weapons, which were very good quality and very original. This model had so much potential, so I hate to give it such a low mark.
Score: Six
The Animations
First off, the animations capture the spirit of Tigger, at least when he's moving. The animation does seem to be a bit choppy, but it is not that bad. The stand animation has Tigger looking around confused, but his body does not move at all, so I had to deduct points there. The walk is amusing because Tigger does a little hop and moves his little ,stubby legs, very in character. The jump animation is kinda lame, the model simply rises, no muscle flexing during the take off or landing, he's doing the stand animation while jumping! The effortless jump does kind of fit in with Tigger's personality, and it looks acceptable in the game, especially since it has the Tigger hoping sound in the background. The taunts are good, Tigger bounces (His usual form of travel), stands on his head, and does some kind of hand wave thing. The death animations are down right hilarious, with Tigger violently twisting and falling to the ground. The worst animation, which I am deducting a full star for is the crouch animation, Tigger sits down! Tigger barely looks any shorter. I understand that the legs don't have knees or ankles, which also affected the jump and just about every other animation. Because the animations don't look that bad in the game, I give the model two and a half stars.
Score: Five
The Skin
Many skins are provided, but they are not very detailed and even look exactly alike besides the colors. The skins interact with the lighting affects of my graphics accelerator in a very beautiful way. Pretty much if you have no graphics accelerator, don't down load this model. I really like the skins, even though none of them are any different. They could have at least made one that was a saber tooth Tigger or some other kind of feline such as a lion. I cannot give the skins over 2 stars because of the lack of variety and because their is a mysterious vertical line near the nose of EVERY SINGLE SKIN! But If you have a graphics accelerator, Tigger may be worth downloading just because of the way his skin reflects lighting effects.
[ r13 note: the line is from where the black background bleeds onto the visible part of the skin. It's a common mistake that is corrected by over coloring the skin outside the skin mapping on the pcx. ]
Score: Four
Sounds
Tigger's sounds, although most inappropriate for a deathmatch, are very in character. The death sounds range from the really funny to the nonsensical, even though none of them are really fitting. However, the drowning sounds are downright awesome, and the pain sounds are very good to. All in all I give the sounds four stars, because I know how hard it must have been to find any sounds at all that were suitable for Tigger in a deathmatch. When you fight Tigger to the death, it is hard not to giggle. Also, some extra sounds are included, such as the Tigger song and a quote from Ludo from Labyrinth with David Bowie. (Ludo call rocks!) Actually either Ludo or David Bowie in his Ziggy Stardust uniform would make pretty cool models.
Score: Eight
Visible Weapons Support
The visible weapons are very original. Tigger redefines the term "Flower Power" with his BFG blasts. Tigger's weapons consist of things than one would find in Tigger's forest home. Tigger would just look foolish running around with deadly weapons and I'm glad the creator realized this. You almost feel bad blowing away a cute little Tigger holding a flower, almost.
Pack Inclusion
Not surprisingly, Tigger's flaws will keep him out of the next pack. But if someone does some work on him he may just bounce back into it.
