Intro
This is the author's first model, which explains many of it's downfalls. Named after the authors little brother, this model is the member of the Quake II family locked in a chicken coop from infancy, deservingly.
Originality
A guy with a gun and a scowl. I haven't seen that before! The only points Myles scored was for his mod fashion sense. I found myself telling him to pull up his pants repeatedly, to no avail.
The Model
At first glance this model is a little raw. At second glance, it is downright crude despite weighing in at 870 polys. Many of the polys are useless, increasing the face count and not the detail. the overall effect is misanthropormorphic. His floppy pants, though original and clearly modeled, are poly hogs.
The face count vs. detail problem is especially apparent in the arms, which come across as overly faceted pasta. The right elbow's crook, the model's weakest feature, is reminiscent of Sheriff Woody. Somebody's poisoned the water hole!
I really do love a good set of shoulder pads, and Myles sports one hell of a pair and a spiffy collar to boot. Good job there! However, despite the armor, I find the poorly modeled physique to be an abomination to mankind and fully deserving of all the punishment deathmatch can deal.
Score: Three
The Animations
Fairly well executed (look for the sign of the cross! KUDOS!), though somewhat unimaginative.
Score: Six
The Skin
The skin is a perfect match for the model. I find it to be very effective at covering up the inadequecies of the model with a veneer of crudely scribbled pixels (i had to re-pallate the skin as well, or deathmatch in greyscale). The only bright spot is the face simian at best, yet oddly appropriate. His release from the chicken coop was premature.
Score: One
Sounds
None.
Visible Weapons Support
None.
Pack Inclusion
I vote no. Get back in the coop! It is too large in the polygon count and too tall to boot. It will be available for download separately.
