Hey guys, this is my first lip sync animation, and I feel like i'm missing something. If anyone could provide some good feed back to push it more, on the animation that's already there, I'd be more than greatful. I haven't gotten to the actual facial expressions besides the mouth movements. Thanks for your time!

Hey there! You have a decent start. There are a few different workflows for lipsync. I'll share the one that resonated most with me. It's three steps and gets pretty convincing results quickly.

Step one- Do one pass of only up and down on the jaw. Think of it as a puppet. A helpful tip is to put your hand under your chin and say the lines.

Step two- Do one pass of the ins and outs of the mouth (or wide and narrow). This mean differentiating from "Ooooh" and "eeee" shapes.

Step three- Polish. On this pass pay closer attention to how each mouth shape moves into each other.

I'll leave some comments in synchsketch, but this is a good place to start if you're lost.

Is that your model? I think the lip sync looks fairly good so far. What may be  throwing it off a bit, could be the shape the mouth is modeled in. It might be a tad too wide in its neutral shape. Also there might be some issue with the timing and off-setting the movements a few frames from the sound might help. Not sure though.

    Cheers!

I think youre trying to do too much all at onne, try to break it down to simple movements of the mouth in your first pass. So get the jaw movements of each word in for the whole sequence, then build up on getting the phonetic mouth shapes, then build onto eyes, eyebrows, additional details like muscles, hair, etc

I'd advise you to have a mirror handy as well so you can see what your mouth is doing when you say the words, also I didnt see your reference I do hope you're looking at the audio reference too

Thank you everyone for the critiques, I've gone over and did another pass through. Hopefully this one is better. This version is the one I submitted for the school project.
