Recon Series - Drone, Dropship and Recon Ship Project

I wanted to start a larger project, working on multiple assets that all fit together. The idea would be to have a larger recon scout ship that would stay in orbit or high atmosphere. This would send out a drop pod or smaller ship that would be at home in lower atmosphere and that in turn would release a small drone that would further scout the area. So here is a super simple blockout of some drone ideas Im thinking of. Im gonna push out the high for the drone first as I want to try some new workflow ideas. CC welcome

Not bad. Let me ask, how do you envision your thrusters working? Right now, they look like the end of a blowtorch, which is (in my estimation) not the most optimal shape to generate thrust.

This of course depends upon the propulsion method you have in mind, but for chemical-reaction-based thrusters you may want to change to a more traditional nozzle-type design.

Yeah much of the design is in flux at the moment but these are more directional thrusters. Not for lift as the main thrust would come from the central copter blade, again still in blockout.

Well this little guy looks awesome! Love all the modelled detail and thought that's gone into the legs and how it would move. I feel like his outside silhouette could be broken up a little? Maybe a retractable antenna or something to break up the straight edges?

Otherwise I love the design, just a thought.

JLHGameArt yeah thats the idea, i wanted to get the legs and other folded detail done first, then will add exterior details to flesh out the design. TBH im winging it and seeing what works best
