I realized I didn't have a progress thread here for the Allegorithmic contest A Road Trip in 2016

My actual progress thread is here.

I will be finishing this piece in the last 2 days, there is already some progress and didn't have much time to work on it but it is what it is! I wanted to focus on Modularity for the meshes and Flexible Materials, so the fun part came in the texturing process inside UE4  :p

I will post the final render here also! Meanwhile I'm sharing some screenshots inside Unreal. Most parts like the Emissive materials and the Control Panel are still really WIP.

Model and textures are kinda hard to read. It's hard to tell what this is without having a first clue, how it works, how it's made and by whom. There's no sense of scale and textures seems to be a mashup of photos without any specific purpose. Material looks also overly complicated for the result. My advice would be to take a step back and think about how the bike works (even if it's sci-fi, viewer should be able to tell what kind of mecanism is used to get the bike levitating), how the bike is build, how it is used and what are the materials.
    Keep it up!

Thank you Cremuss! I added some accesories to help visualize how the bike works. There are some parts i can remove and make a "Low level version" and more of a "High end vehicle version". But the turbines and the handles should be shared with both vehicles i guess. The idea is to lean your body putting your hands on the wheel and use the pedal to accelerate.

As for the colors, Still deciding what to put but the materials can change the cavity rust, sand, overall color variation and change the properties of the painted metal and steel. I will post different version with multiple material instances later.

Very hard to read, to much going own with glow and lighting. I see where i can sit but i barely see the handles, Color scheme is not really working for me =)

The seat material is not reading well, i see it as black duck tape https://hdsupplysolutions.com/wcsstore/ThdsMroUs/product/fm/large/10/105884_K_L.jpg

the purple on the side (second render) looks more like 90's leather jacket http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTYwMFgxMjAw/z/TQUAAOSwEetWAKSn/$_35.JPG (maybe that's what you wanted to go for?)

Some small details, escpecially ont the front hood, looks like their just put there to give some details, but not well thought out. Do they have a purpose?. Last render for example, have holes/rings/Screws on the front hood, but i can't figure out what their purpose is.

The bike is glowing, but that wont help the driver too se infront of him, because their are no headlights infront. (maybe using a VR helmet to see in the dark?)
Or maybe that's a place where the sun never goes down.. Then why need so much lights?

    My main tips would be.
Go back, take a look at how bikes works and looks. Look at custom bikes, how they're built. look at some Akira work.
Look at sci fi bikes, they all have things incommon with Real Bikes.
