    Good start!
A few things I notice are that you're jumping to some details that you should probably hold out on until you get the base forms completely done. For example the scars should be added later on once your primaries and secondary forms are finished. Right now it seems the character's lower jaw is in need of a restructuring, it doesn't look like he has a mouth mound or the surrounding muscles.
The zygomatics and orbitals are starting to get a little lost in form which is probably why you're having trouble with the eyelids. Remember that the eyelids conform to the eyeball, right now they're two separate entities and neither is shaping the other. What might help is looking at how the eyelids are structured, how does the eyelid interact with the brow and how does the upper half connect with the lower half? You'll also want to pay close attention to the ears, people often overlook them when ears can add a ton of personality and help break silhouette.
The cheeks are looking good, you're on the right track! Fix those few things and you'll be on a good track.
