Sorry for the delay this week. It was a holiday yesterday.

This weeks theme. Sit down! On a chair. flop over onto a couch. collapse in exhaustion. Whatever your poison, go from standing to not.

Slow day at work and I figured I'd do a two for one. Still quite a lot of rough spots, but alright for a few hrs 1st blocking pass.

@ derphouse: looking good! the poses are working really well! :)! maybe in splines the end will be a little too fast , but I may be wrong :P!

Here is my blocking idea , just placed the remote control to show the idea but the timing and trajectory will change

@derphouse, timing feels very even. Not sure if that was part of this blocking pass or if this was just to get the key poses. I'd speed up the bit between legs crossed to sitting on the ground a little; and add those frames to slow down the palms coming together. Looking forward to more!

@Arturow, nice sense of weight and timing feels good too. I'd get to the "Click" pose sooner, or add some more frames after it so there's time to read that final pose.

another few hrs for 1st clean up pass

@ Hito : thanks! the final pose is in the final frame, you are totally right haha I will add a few frames in it :P and for the click I will wait till splines to see how it feels ( I would probably follow your advice haha), Thanks!

for yours maybe the 2 flip is too fast or it is just tricking me without polishing :p , also the landing feels soft but I know that you are still working it , just like comments :P

Hello polycounters! This is my first stab at doing one of these weekly challenges. I was able to get the blockout finished last night and able to clean up a few problems this evening. Still needs some more polish but thinking it's turning out okay. Let me know what you all think. :)

    Welcome Sonny! :D!

-Looking good! I suggest you maintain the belly a little down before it lands and leave it like you have it in the last pose , that will add a nice overlap and sell the belly movement because it seems that you are taking his belly in consideration ( if not, I'm crazy and just ignore me LOL) Or you can also put his belly up and then BOOM!! down it when he lands , because now it feels like it being interpolated from the last 2 poses ( I know is just blocking , just as a comment :P! )

    - Also I don't know if the head is doing a strange movement or is just the perspective when he rotates

Here is the blocking plus , rough keys and it may contain same values in some controls haha ._.U , going to spline it to fix overlaps , copy pairs and arcs, also placed the click sooner as Hito suggested and now it has some room for the final pose :)!

    Evening polycount. :)

Thank you Arturow for the welcome and the critique.

I kind of feel like in your animation he could land sooner and slide a little more to hit the arm of the chair, it will add some nice opportunity for follow through. Another little tiny detail that I'd like to see is at the end of the animation when he turns on the TV he kind of just turns it on and it looks kind of boring, maybe adding a little flick of the wrist and translating the hand up an down a tiny amount will add a little bit more character to the animation.

I took a few hours today to clean up the animation and get it to a finished state. I am still a little concerned as to how "jerky" it feels and wasn't really able to pinpoint why it appears this way. It felt good to do this weekly challenge thing, especially since this one wasn't extremely difficult.

Here's the final product. Can't wait to see what next weeks project is.:thumbup:

@Arturow looking good! I think the remote's hang time is a frame or two too long at the peak of the arc. I'd take those frames and pad the end a little more. I don't know if it's because I'm old and slow or what, but I find it best when there's at least 15 frames of padding at the end to read that final pose.

@Sonny, very cool! It doesn't seem particularly jerky to me. If by "jerky" you mean the "springy" feel when the torso is bouncing after landing, I think that's because the keys in the torso are all moving with same spacing. I'd try adding some translation in the spine controls (I never used that rig so I don't know if it's possible) to stretch the body from 44 to 46. Your Squased pose is hitting the same frame as the landing, lag it couple frames behind to 48. From there, you can offset the bounce of the spine controls from bottom up. so the lowest control will start bouncing a frame before the middle, which will be a frame before the top. The shoulders should move more as the torso is settling out from the landing. Might also help alleviate the "springy" feel if you let the arms overlap a little with the torso bouncing instead of IK locking them to the Knee as the torso goes up and down, would be pretty challenging to do though.

couple more hrs sprucing it up and fixing the agregious timing issues Arturow mentioned few days ago.. gonna call it done despite the kinks that are left.

@Sonny : I kind of like the jerky in it hahah , maybe it would of change that mood for you if you offset the hands and legs to not be the same, maybe 1 landing first and then the other one , idk ;o but I really liked the final animation :)!

@Hito : LOL that just need a "deal with it" on it xD I really liked the way it lands and how the arms swing back! specially how it goes for the glasses ( i kind of like the speed how he puts the glasses on , it makes it funny like "sup?":) ) I still think the 2 flip is too fast for his body but the movement overall is great!

    here is my final version
I didn't have time to add more animation to it xd but I agree with you Hito , I decided to just sent my remote to space hahahah because it was a little distracting and I didn't feel the hang up there.

Thanks Sonny , I speed up the landing and added just a tinny up/down and rotation to the end.

I wonder what is going to be next week? :O!!
