i normally dont look the personal threads too, unless someone asks me to deal with something, its really hard because nowadays there is a lot going on all the treads, its hard to follow.

im unsure about a lot of things like the holes and the "pomel". But i always feels more confortable in the 3d part.

You could do some color variation in the middle part of the blade. Right now the colors are pretty monotone, but the idea looks cool so far!
The Legion Commander has come across many deadly weapons during her brutal campaign of blood and bone, but among those weapons... only one was capable of shattering the chains of fate itself... A massive blade, a cleaver of flesh and soul... A remnant of StoneHall.
So the concept was made entirely in Krita, and then sent over to Modo.
Quickly blocked out the shape using Modo's retopo pen over the concept art, pulled it out and sculpted some of the most recognizable details of the concept. I have a feeling getting this in the right polycount range will be a challenge, but thats the fun part.
is it possible to change the particle effect of Gyrocopters bomb? I plan on having an animated propellor on it instead but with an exhaust at the side and the firey rocket effect may look a little strange on it.
I'll post my progress later when I get back to work, This is a good experience to learn Game Asset creation, low poly workflows and Zbrush! big change from the 3D work i do day to day but it's fun

the textures looks a little dirty for me, i think you should try some more gradients and less random btush strokes, also some edge definition may help too

As Tvidotto stated, the textures could be worked a bit more.
Also, for some reason I'm getting a techno/mecha feeling in the concept. Looks like the spear is made of scrap metal of a robot or a mecha, something like this, maybe it's just me seeing things. :poly121:
Drawing is not a skill of mine so keep that in mind! but blocking out an idea for a Wraith King sword that keeps things a bit simple. I like the idea of a purposefull large blade for him!
I'll probably refine this a lot once i get it through Max and Zbrush
@Runforest: That's defenatly a original idea, but like Vayne said maybe give it some own animations because it would more be a weapon to stab with than hit someone..

It looks very bulky against her figure, have you tried it with a thinner blade. It is a nice shape, if the blades width reduced i really think it will go a lot better with her

Decided to refine the flagpoles to better reflect wings, dropped the two longest flags as they muddied her silhouette. On to finer details and painting next. C&C welcomed as always!

i just stuffed it into the importer and it doesn't look tooooo horrible solid. going to try to get at least a bit of influence from the scarf bones though.

I'm taking this opportunity to finally learn zbrush, and make a retro-shaped gyro missile. Zbrush confuses the hell outta me.
I'm explaining away my drawover on my dead mouse.
Finally drew one that I liked enough to work on so I made the low poly this evening and did a quick paint over.

just cloth, custom animation for weapon means custom animation for the entire hero (its just one animatable bone hierarchy)
abd i dont want all that work for just a flag =]
the problem is: i dont know if that is going to work nice, cloth is not easy to set...

tested the cloth on the flag of my blade, i would like to animate it by hand, it is so much easier
