modo 601: pixel painting in UV window

hi, I'm experimenting in modo with the 3d paint and low-spec models- pixel art rez textures etc. It's working out just fine except for painting in the UV window.

When drawing on the model, I can use a small brush to get a single pixel mark, but when I try the same thing in the UV window with the smallest possible brush set to be completely hard edge, it draws over the space of 4 pixels. as if I had a 4px size brush basically, except I've made the brush size as small as it will go.

does anyone have any ideas? I'd really like to paint both on the model and UV window.. I just can't get it to make 1px size marks though
