Non Square Textures (2:1, etc)

I'm currently unwrapping a sword and would like to have my texture be either a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio (512x256 or 1024x256). I'm in Max and the only thing I can find close to what I want is the "bitmap options", however, when I change these settings, it distorts the hell out of my UVs. I know this is possible and I feel like I'm missing something obvious.

In case I'm not being clear, here is an example of what I'm shooting for (the bottom two):

    This behavior is expected. UVW space doesn't change with the bitmap ratio. So UV position [1,1] is always the top right, and [0.5,0.5] is always the center.

    Simply scale your unwrap 50% vertically. Or whatever ratio corresponds to the texture size you choose.

    monster: Thanks. I figured that was going to be what needed to be done. I just scaled and re-packed in the new ratio size. Going to do test bakes now.
