Maya UV Editor not opening

One day the UV editor just decided to not open anymore, and i have no idea how to fix it. I've tried using Mel script to open it, ive tried the button under the windows menu and i've tried the button on the polygons shelf, neither work. When i click it the screen does a very small blink and then nothing happens. In the Mel window it says it has performed the script to open the window TextureViewWindow; I've also tried doing showWindow TextureViewWindow; with no success, it says the window does not exist.

I've reinstalled maya twice now, with no prevail.

When you reinstalled, did you remove the maya folder in Documents? if you remove that and restart maya, it will be forced to recreate it and could fix the problem.
I had a similar issue (the brief flicker) with the transfer maps dialogue not opening and wiping my preferences fixed it.

maybe it could been placed outside of your monitors view try to hold down the windows button and then use the arrows to move it and see if it shows up

Had the same problem before and g0th already mentioned the solution. Was going crazy trying to figure it out. So if you dont want to lose all your prefs try his method.

Just had the same issue, I deleted the "prefs" folder, don't forget to back it up before you delete it. 

C:\Users\<username>\My Documents\Maya\<version>\prefs
