I think it's an inconsistency with monitors. On my screen it looks fine, and I've heard from a few others that it looks fine. But on my work screen it's dark and others have also told me its dark. I had the same problem with my Unearthly entry where it was the exact opposite and it appeared washed out on some screens and fine on others.
wait are you saying it's too contrasty or just kinda dark up front because of lighting...? Contrasty is what I was talking about... but if you were talking about lighting I may have to agree with you on that one... Cuz that shadow is cool and all... but yeah... kinda messes up the tonal parallax... I missed that one... damn..
