New Graphics Card - WEI too low?

Hey all, I'm hoping someone way more knowledgeable about hardware can shine some light on something for me.

I just bought a new graphics card (Geforce GTX 570), got it all running, and stuff seems to run great on it.

There's just one thing that's kind of worrying me. The windows experience index rates it a 6.0, however according to the googles it should be a 7.9 or 7.8 or something. I have no clue how this number is assessed, or what's going on. So far it runs games fine so it seems like there's no huge deal, but I find it a bit worrisome that my computer is rating it lower than it should be.

So yeah, anyone have any idea what could be causing this, and if it's an issue to be looking into?

did you update the windows indexing recently?
it was almost the same with my new RAM.

when i updated that it boosted the rating up!

don't bother with windows experience index, try some games and see if you're getting the high framerates as is proper with the card.

windows experience index is based on the slowest component (ram, hdd, cpu OR video) in the system. Obviously your video card wasn't the slowest component int he system, hence the index didn't change.

Although this index is pretty much useless. Stick to eld's advice.

Don't worry with the windows rate, just check well your fps and compare with the reviews. You got a great videocard.

And Kwramm - I meant the graphics card rating, not my computers. The graphics rating itself changed, just not as much as it should have apparently.

But, if you all say it's nothing to worry about, I shall no longer worry about it! Thanks dudes.
