dont use lcNextGenShader.fx - I dont remember the last time I checked or updated it and it could be messed up. For Maya you should use a CGFX shader anyway as they are much more stable than the HLSL shaders. There are a few CGFX shaders available but I have to recomend my own lcUberShader.cgfx.
If you have never used a realtime shader in Maya before you should be aware of some of the peculiarities, like lights need to be linked individualy. check out this video.
