Lightmaps and shadow problems

Hey guys

So im working on a scene and i was using the August build and was getting nice shadows like this

but then i went to December and started getting really blobby rubbish shadows like this

so i went back to August thinking it was a bug or something and now i still have rubbish shadows its annoying because my shadows were so crips and nice before!

The weird thing is if you toggle the lightmap channel after you have baked the lighting i get my nice shadows again?

Does anyone know how tpo get my nice shadows back?

The lightmap for the stall is 512 which i think is even a bit too high? I made the lightmap in maya and exported it into UDK with a second Uvset.

In the scene i have one dominant Spotlight and one normal spotlight
