Hi all,

Real UDK newb here. And yes I have used google and polycount search!

I have been seeing a lot of cool renders on the forums with really dark AO's in UDK (some a little too dark might i add), I was wondering how you set this up inside of UDK and if anyone can point me in the direction of any good tutorials that cover it.

Really appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks!

If you search "console" in the content browser, UTPostProcess_Console Post Process Chain will show up. Open UTPostProcess_Console (double click it in content browser), select the AmbientOcclusionEffect. This is the main controller of the default SSAO. You can setup a custom Post Process Chain for your level should you choose. Occlusion Power is the immediate, most noticeable modifier, but the other settings are a good time too.

Eat3d has a great DVD on lighting & post process that covers much of this.
