.us domain as non us citizen?

Hey folks!

I want to create a little page for myself, for uploading purposes and linklists and such stuff.
The coolest url would be www.morph.eus (.eus is something basque, but not yet online as far as my research went)
Second to that would be morphe.us, but .us is only for us citizen or companies with at least one office in america?
Is there any workaround? Because I am no american citizen and everything else that short is already taken (like morpheus.de, .com, .biz and so on)
And i wouldnt like to register something like morpheus-modeling-mania.com or anything alike

If it's for a portfolio site, maybe just focus on making cool shit and presenting it clearly instead of worrying about trying to register a well-regulated foreign domain name for the sake of a nickname.

@glynn: i thought about even replying... this doesnt relate to anything... i got this nickname since 6 years, i wont change it in any way and i like it... its a matter of taste... i dont like yours...

so basically i am still having the same question, as noone above stated something helpfull about the actual problem, anyone from non us with a .us domain here?

To be fair, it probably will be for sale with that generic holding page put onto it. But, probably, it's been bought by one of those douchebags that'll only release it for a bunch more than it's worth.
