Looks pretty nice. Looks like Crysis to me only with more plastic and better lighting.
Semi off topic but I think its not going to matter so much what the engine can do pretty soon but ease of use and documentation - atleast among the AAA developers/engine developers like Crytek, IW, and EPIC etc)
Unless they can make the engine stand out by doing something new or a lot better then anyone else.
God where is moose, jordan, or kevin when we need conformation! This better be legit because I can only play 2 for so much longer before my xbox decents to rrod!
So would their jungle/forest tech demonstrations indicate that they are using dynamic lighting to a larger extent than before ? Perhaps static of non deformable/destroyable trees and dynamic for the more dynamic bushes and shrubs ?
the engine improvements are looking really beautiful.
good to see the engine finally supports colours.
unfortunately, it seems that the game still doesn't - i kid of course.
i get the feeling that the entire human race is going to be moving through the jungles, in Gears 3, and being hunted by the Locusts. Meanwhile, the player will spend his 'x-number' of acts doing the following:
- going to a particular spot in the jungle
to
- go back under ground to re-involve the lambent locusts
so that they can
- go to jacinto together and tie up all the loose ends while taking cover, kicking ass, and chewing bubble gum just for good measure
i'm looking forward to Gears 3

EDIT: Or maybe not :P Not seen this one but at first glance it looked a lot like the new UE engine pics with all the foliage. Heres the link, it gves Crysis a little run for its money, very nice: http://kotaku.com/5492714/do-you-want-gears-of-war-3-to-look-like-this/gallery/
