Polycount contests?

I was just wondering- what happened to them? I see a random comment here and there where "polycount should have a contest on this", but I haven't really seen any talk of why they don't happen.

This isn't a WE NEED CONTESTS post, I'm just curious. My only guess is maybe participation was too low when there were contests, or maybe they were too hard to spot in the flood of UE and DW posts.

yeah we alot of the polycounters seem to do the contests at Gameartisans these days, theyre pretty good topics and fairly well run with some tough competition

Yeah hit up GameArtisans for their contests, their entire forum is built around the contests. Josh Singh has been running some contests with great themes over the past few months.

We've a CHALLENGE coming up, but right now we're not running any contests (re: prizes) until the new site is up and we're ready to talk with sponsors.

No ETA, but I can give you a mini update:

We're this close || to wrapping up remaining bugs and start live testing it on our server. Right now, though, we're setting up some new stuff on our server and need that to be finished before development on the site can continue.

So we're close! We just need to hammer out some technical wizardry before going live.

And yeah adam- I was thinking more along the lines of challenge- wrong choice of words there
