Hammer Brother? Sledge Brother?

Hi guys,

Have a hankering to crank out a nice model. Thinking on re-envisioning one of the Hammer Brother from Super Mario.

Although, as this character's proportions have turned out, I think he's looking more like a Sledge Brother, so I may ditch the blankly designed stand in hammers for a nice, big, sledge hammer...

Anyhow, thinking on his proportions. I think I have the naked proportions fleshed out. Might scale the head down...

He needs gear! Any ideas? Helmet for sure... maybe some gauntlets? Maybe ditch the flab and boobs in the front, and give him that underbelly armor that turtles have?

Anyhow.. open to, and appreciative of any suggestions for gear!

Yeah, fun concept.

I say keep the flab but change it to that turtle belly pattern, like a flexible armor. Some vambraces would be cool.

I think if you gave him turtle underbelly he might fall too far into the overweight ninja turtle category, which might be an interesting reimaging in its own right, but I think the idea of hockey pads or wrestling gear is interesting. I always imagined bowser's cronies as this ragtag group, maybe they can't afford sweet gear.

I 'll put him on underpants, He-man like..and a huge two handed Sledgehammer.
IMO will look bruttier(does that word exist?) without any/few armor pieces(and maybe small and odd ones)..

So, I'll go with a Sledge Brother. So big, fat turtle thing with a sledge hammer, right?

What about the remains of an unfortunate Koopa for a helmet?

if you dont want the redundancy of the shell on the head, theres those beetle things witht he spikes, could be neat for a helm
.. then mario could not jump on him!

if you go with a koopa helmet, maybe a flying one with the wings hanging out would look neat? Although I do love the spike beetle Rhinokey mentioned

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I agree that the Koopa shell may be redundant.

I'm going to play with the spiked beetle idea, and also research what other little villains are in the series that I could take advantage of (yes, in THAT way).
