Search function not searching past current year?

I don't know if I'm going crazy but in the Advanced Search, I enter in Find posts from "A Year Ago" but the search results only show matches from the current year. For example, I type in "gun" in the search, "A year Ago" for how old to start searching, I select PnP section to search, and the results are only from 2009. I'm pretty sure there have been gun WIP's posted in 2008? Even with the search date set to "Any Date", it still only shows results from 2009. Anyone else get this?

Yeah the search engine seems very weird at the moment. I would suggest ... this!
