Environments and stuff

Hey guys,

I want more environments in my portfolio, but when it comes to concepting and making color schemes etc. I go realllly slow. So I want to use professional concept art to work from so I can dive right into modeling.

Aside from Feng Zhu, I was hoping you guys could refer me to some good environment artists.

Also, is it fine to post their concept in my portfolio as a comparison from 3D to concept as long as I give credit?

Try out some of the WAR concept art. It's fun to make and works great for getting people work.

As long as you credit the artist, most are ok with using their concepts. It doesn't hurt to ask first either.

search conceptart.org for "guild wars nightfall", "guild wars factions" and "guild wars Eye of the north", the concept artists there usually dump all their stuff in a massive thread and they have some awesome environment pieces.

some concept artists from other companies certainly posts their stuff aswell, could be worth checking out. As Chris said, as long as you ask for permission and credit the artist/company I think that should be fine.
