much like streets of rage 2 (just tons better imo)

4 players, each with distinguished color and moves
one big blonde guy green shirt
one black guy w/ sunglasses red shirt

similar bosses: maybe 3rd or 4th boss are two brothers, one very tall the other midget one who climbs on the tall and gets thrown all over holding knives. can't quite remember other bosses...

cool features are chain weapons you can pick up and smack badguys while they're on the floor.
the spiked club slams them against the background and is very cool
there's also a shotgun with maybe 8 shells u can pick up

there's an elevator level when u go down and shit gets thrown down at you..

It sounds to me like "Final Fight." I couldn't tell you which one, though. There's "Final Fight," "Final Fight 2," "Mighty Final Fight," "Final Fight 3," "Final Fight Revenge," and "Final Fight: Streetwise."

Take a look at the Wikipedia page and see if it's the one you're referring to. Either way, it's a great series of games, and is worthy of a play-through.
