HLSL Cartoon Shader crit

I have been fooling around with Mental image and FX Composer. This is a pic of a HLSL cartoon shader that is all procedural.

With this shader I can change the highlights, outline, ambient, diffuse color from color swatches. The outline and highlight intensity can also be changed.

The plan is to make one with the ability to add a pure color texture map also and have the outline and shade from the shader.

I am a total noob with shader coding so any comments are appreciated.

    The broken grainy lines are interesting, can we see the shader thrown on a different model?

    Also I think the colors need to be clamped a bit more tightly, the gradients are at odds with the rough quality of the lines. Would be nice to see a more pronounced shadow area as well.

    Maybe some support for a normal map and specular to break up the highlights?
