Seriously, whats going on at the moment ?
Irrational Games gets renamed before they can release their next big Title, DirectX10 is declared obsolete, nVidia's G92 will have an Audio-Chip.
I blame cosmic bizarro-rays.

    Perhaps Window's new DX10 update, Vista's SP1, and any hardware made for it will be obsolete until the companies can prove its worth. I'm happy NOT throwing money at their poor decisions, evil marketing, and half-assed development.

    Meh, that's not that big a thing. Sounds like they needed to make the jump to this new stuff, and decided to, but that it won't have a huge impact on well... anyone?

    DX10 hardware was already obsolete from the start. It's not fast enough to take advantage of what makes DX10 better anyways. That's why buying into a new version of DX on the first generation is so stupid -- it's always the next set of cards that are worth getting.

    nvidia examples:
    -GeForce FX (5xxx) was crap, 6xxx line was good, 7xxx was better.
    -8xxx is bad (except 8800GT[S/X]), 9xxx will be good, 10xxx will be better.

    John Carmack thinks DX10 is great, though.
    OpenGL is multiplatform, which is why he likes it. More $$$ for his coffers.

    As for the mandatory 4xAA in DX10.1, I love that.

    I notice KDR_11k is posting over on that slashdot thread :O

    Also something interesting related to DX10, Crysis will have different game servers for DX9 and DX10 users, so DX9 users can't play on DX10 servers and DX10 users will have to change some settings to play on DX9 servers.
