I think I'll do one of these:

Definitely go with the Caravaggio (top left). If you do go with that one though, I'd recommend replacing Goliath's head with your own, since that piece doubles as a self portrait of Caravaggio's.

Thanks Geezus, that's exactly the one I ended up choosing. I didn't know Goliath's head was a self portrait of Caravaggio's, that's interesting. I'll consider doing a self portrait too, or at least elements of myself for Goliath’s head then, thanks for the idea!

Here's some progress on David's base, the face is going to change a lot:

Nice start! Shoulders look a tad bulgy compared to the ones in the painting but it's shaping up well, I like it

Nice start, I'd maybe fatten up his cheeks a little bit. He definitely has the effeminate male looking going, like in the painting.

And yeah, Caravaggio found a few ways of working his self portraits into his work. He is, by far, my favorite of the masters. So I'll be watching! :]
