[SP] Rebaked Ambient Occlusion looks bad

Hello,

I am trying to ensure that smart materials affect the height details I've added to my model, following the instructions given in the Scifi Crate Project tutorial videos.

Everything works perfectly, until I rebake the additionnal maps from the reimported normal map: the AO map always comes very bright, "weak", with a lot of missing parts.
As a result, the smart materials come badly, with almost non-existant dirt, etc.

Does anyone know what might cause the problem?
