WHATS HAPPENING TO MY MESH?! Zbrush frustrations and layers.

im getting these artifacts when im gettng out of recording mode/changing the opacity of the layer/switching to another layer/just about anything to do with layers excepts baking it all. anybody know what I can do to remedy this catastrophe?

Did you up the subdivisions when the Layers weren't active?
