Substance Designer + Painter. Standalone or Monthly?

Man this is frustrating me. Trying to decide which package suites me better. It's for my personal use and at the moment, non professional. I wouldn't be using it everyday either. I hate seeing money fly out the window and much prefer the idea of permenant ownership. However if I buy the standalone versions I'm not entitled to updates past 12 months?

I guess I could just subscribe and resubscribe if I know I wont be using it for a couple months, but I like having it 'there'.

Has anyone purchased the standalone copies and regretted it?

Alternatively was anyone on a monthly plan but decided to buy the standalone?

I suppose it's only $5 a week.

I do the subscription, and i use it pretty frequently. I'm not sure what you do though. I tend to take all my characters to completion so i'm using it on every one of them. I do not regret it at all. Love it.

Monthly 100% for me. I had a back injury for 6 months and was able to stop the subscription until I was recovered. Same goes for holidays & periods where I only do modeling or management.

Everything standalone, makes life much easier.
Standalone users can extend the maintenance for another 12 months.
