New robot character bust

Hey everyone, would love some feedback on this character I'm working on for class. Theme is a battlefield robot medic. Was inspired by some cool steampunk masks and built the character out from there. I'm mainly concerned about the background.. I like the solid color gradient, but am not too sure if it's enough. What do we think?
