WHO WE ARE

Hello! I'm David Forbes, the owner of Qbots LLC, a small gaming studio with twelve team members working on a game called Qbots. The game is designed to engage players in multiple ways and has a detailed history and backstory that informs the world and the game play (robots fighting other robots and building outposts and finding energy to survive).

We took a very stripped down demo of the game to the Let's Play! Expo in PA and were voted Best Gameplay by attendees, beating out the largest gaming studio in Pennsylvania. We couldn't get people out of our booth, and nearly everyone asked if they could buy a copy (no, not yet). It was great validation that we're on the right path.

A very detailed Game Design Document can be found HERE

EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We currently have two programmers working on the game. One is working on the environment, the other on the menu and UI with our UI designer. The senior programmer is working with Voxeland and MapMagic to create the environment. This is a recent switch from a different terrain generator.

We are looking for someone who's passionate about game development and either has experience with Unity and C# or has enough of a programming background to get up to speed quickly.

We would also like:
  • Experience with Git repositories or a willingness to learn about them for proper version control
  • We are going to require you to document the code you publish to Git; we would prefer to have one feature that well-documented than ten features no one else can understand or manage
  • An understand of code that is low in coupling and high in cohesion
COMPENSATION
We can discuss either an equity position in the company or deferred royalties paid once the game goes on sale.

CONTACT
If you're interested or have more questions, please contact dave@qbots.netI'd love to hear about your background and any recent projects you may have worked on.

Thank you!
