Font selection for text tool in Mac Os X very weird

Hi,
I am on a Mac Book Pro running Mac OS Sierra.
When I am using the text tool, the font selection is very odd... It dosen't reflect the system fonts, and there is lot of Chinese character names for some of the fonts?! I am guessing there is some error in loading the system fonts correctly. See screenshot for an example:
