Hightmap Not Visible in Preview Window - SubD 6

I'm having a bit of trouble viewing hightmaps in my 3d preview window - Any thoughts on what could be causing this. 

I've created a basic grayscale shape, plugged it into the hightmap and hit "view in 3d preview" 

Am I missing something here?

Make sure the material is set to tessellation in the "Materials" menu in the 3D View tab.
Then go to Materials > Default > Edit
And in the Parameters tab, change the Tessellation factor and Scale to suit your needs.
