So I wanted to try and get a post together to start working on a new piece. I decided to get into some hard surface stuff a bit more and try to see what I can come up with. So far I started the head and got a good deal of the way along with it. Still need more texture work and hair but it's on it's way. I started with an older space suit mesh that I had to see what I could get but decided to redo it and correct proportions and other design elements that I didn't really like from the original. Anyway critique and comments are very welcome seeing that this is a challenge for me to design.
I'll posting as I go and hopefully finish this is a reasonable time...

Rough paintover for the mech pieces. Inspired alot by Halo and Mass Effect, but there's still a bunch that I want to change. I'll keep updating with hopefully some side and back paintovers as well.

Thanks man! Still wanna make some changes to parts of the face. Hope I can get it more lifelike at some point.
I ended up deviating from the design above and made it a full body character, instead of just the upper body that I was originally going to go with. He's somewhere around 36,000 tri's right now.
