Dynamic vector based snow

Hello, I'm working on a level on kind of a snowy mountain, and I want to use vector based snow for stuff that would be covered in it, this I know how to do but I'm wondering if there is any practical way of doing something like that without modifying every material that would have the snow covering it, for example if there would be some way of solving this by using a volume where all objects in it would be covered.
