(Troll Warlord) Weapon Rotates slightly when submitted in the Item Tools

Hey everyone, since this seems like a problem that would occur to anyone who was trying to do a Troll Warlord set, i was wondering how did you guys get around it,



as you can see the problem is that the weapon Bones are slightly rotated on the fbx file which is fine, you can still skin the weapon (on straight position), but when it gets submitted to the Item Tools (pic on the left, dont mind the textures please) it inherits that rotation during their skinning process, and the weapon gets rotated to the bones angle, (even the default valve submitted fbx file).

the only solution that i could see was to rotate the model prior to the skinning to a negative value of the bones rotation, so when i it gets skinned the weapon falls to is place which should be straight, do you guys have any other solutions?
