[Maya] XGen Primitives to Polygons question

Trying out workflows with XGen and seeing if I can convert XGen hairs/primitives into poly cards. In Maya 2017, there's a "Convert XGen primitives to Polygons" option which works fine, but the problem is that XGen hairs rotate to always face the viewport, so creating all hair cards at once would have many cards created in a bad position. The only way would be to convert everything by small patches. Is there any way to make this process less tedious?

Some do it in batches wit the primitive selector tool and checking the only selected primitives box on the generator settings. You can also uncheck the face camera box on the primitive xgen settings and convert them, and then invert the hair normals manually. This extra step can be a little tedious but it wont eat your time.
