Smart ReSym/mirror verts solution needed

I have an anatomy mesh where I made several fixes to one side of the mesh but Smart Resym in ZB isnt working correctly, the mesh is stretching. I am open to mirroring the mesh in Maya also but I cant delete the bad half or I'll loose the vert numbers and wont be able to update the sculpt. I downloaded a MEL called "abSymMesh" but it doesnt seem to work in Maya after 2012.

Any scripts or suggestions appreciated.

Are you masking out the side you want to keep and smart resymming up through the levels? There's also mirror and weld, if using dynamesh.(or feeze subdiv levels if not)

I actuall ended up slicing the high poly sculpt in half and mirroring it in Maya, then reprojected the sculpt onto a new low poly. I didnt realize you had to smartSym through the levels, that may have been the problem. Going to give that a try now.
