I have a mesh that i imported into zbrush and cleaned up the model, it was from a scan.  it didnt have the texture on it. so after i cleaned up that model I then reimported the original model but this time with the texture.  i then unwrapped the fixed up version of the model.... is there a way to project the polypaint from the 2nd imported model information onto the model that i fixed up even though it doesnt have the same polycount information?

Using Subtool: Project All should do a decent attempt at projecting the color over to the new mesh.
The texture may need to be converted to polypaint first. When the project tool senses polypaint data it will ask if you want to project that over as well (I forget if RGB needs to be turned on first).

You may want to store a morph target on the retopologized model first so that you can revert geometry changes, keeping only the projected polypaint.
